Hyundai LNG Shipping’s VLGC rescued a drowned crew in Indonesian waters

Hyundai LNG Shipping (“HLS”) told that it’s VLGC (Very Large Gas Carrier), ‘M/V HLS Amber’, rescued an Indian crew in Indonesian waters near Java Sea at 12th of March.

‘M/V HLS Amber (Captain Yongho Kim)’, on her sailing towards port Nipha, Indonesia, received a distress call at local time 20:43 PM (GMT 12:43 PM). Upon receipt of the message, Master of the vessel ordered to change her course and initiate searching operation to find out an adrift man in the open sea. After around one hour of searching with rescue boat operation, the drowned crew was found and rescued safely by good cooperation works of M/V HLS Amber crew members. Followed by first aids treatments by onboard crews, the rescued crew was handed over safely to the Indonesian Port Authorities.

“It was a sort of Godspeed to succeed in rescuing operation shortly like that.” A HLS Amber official said. “However, the real reason why M/V HLS Amber was able to complete the process of rescuing operation in the open sea was that all crew members of HLS are well trained to conduct search/rescue operation through its regular drills to deal with emergency situation.”
